Doug McConnell presented on the importance of the 2017 update to RAIC 6 and its alignment with insurance norms and professional practice. He illustrated key clauses and updated members on the important work of the CAA’s Procurement and Contracts Committee.

Jason Meliefste | Branch Manager, Infrastructure Planning & Design, Integrated Infrastructure Services

As Branch Manager of Infrastructure Planning & Design, Jason leads a diverse portfolio of projects including Buildings, Parks, Roads, and Transit projects. His portfolio also extends to include Lifecycle Management which provides oversight of the City’s infrastructure renewal functions. Together with his staff including Project Managers, Architects, Landscape Architects, and Engineers he is responsible for planning and design for all City Infrastructure which informs the development and oversight of the municipal capital budget.

Doug is the past Chair of DIALOG’s national partnership, a position he held for twenty years. He maintains a senior role on selected projects, supports the principals and firm leadership, and contributes to the big-picture direction of our work, setting a high standard for our firm. In the community, Doug has served roles in support of growth and change in Edmonton’s downtown and in the architecture profession. He is actively involved in many initiatives of the Consulting Architects of Alberta and co-chairs its Procurement and Contracts Committee, while also serving as a member of Mayor Iveson’s Business Roundtable.
